Other Programs

In addition to the Summer Play Festival, The Living Room For Artists' programs include:

SPF Internship Program

The SPF Internship Program is a six week intensive program that attracts over 30 students from across the country to work on the Festival, and receive mentoring from seasoned professionals. The program includes three weeks in which the students are assigned to a single Festival production, and numerous networking and educational opportunities.

Applications for the program are accepted from early January each year.

Careers in the Theatre

The Living Room for Artists also produces a series of "Careers in Theatre" panels, hosted in conjunction with the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, that convenes Broadway and off-Broadway professionals to share their experience with a new wave of artists and creative entrepreneurs.

Past topics have included "Careers Backstage", "Actors and the Casting Process", "Careers in Theatre Management", and "Producing 101".

Donmar Residence Program

One writer showcased at the Summer Play Festival is selected and sent to work with the prestigious Donmar Warehouse in London as part of a writer's residency program. The one month program allows the writer to work intimately with the artistic staff of the theatre to nurture their craft while engulfing themselves in the culture of the London theatre scene.
